Thermodynamic Consistency of Experimental “Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium” Data of Nonideal, Nonelectrolyte Solutions. A new general approach to sound thermodynamic consistency of “vapor-liquid equilibrium” data is proposed. I t includes the possibility of correcting experimental data to obtain a set of truly consistent equilibrium data.

Thermodynamically Consistent “Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium” Data for the System AcetoneBenzene at 760 mm Hg. Proposed new approach is applied to proper equilibrium data and to published inconsistent data for the system. Information from the liquid activity coefficients leads to some important conclusions about the behavior of liquid solutions and Van Laar equations.
